Project Overview

The 1892 Herman H. Heiser Home is among Northwest Denver’s most distinguished historic homes. Herman Heiser was a German immigrant and master saddle maker. By the 1900s, the “Herman H. Heiser Saddlery Company” was known throughout the world.

Historic Home stewardship is a labor of love for the current owners. Numerous historic photos of the home are part of the owner’s extensive collection which includes much of the family’s period furniture. Photos were carefully examined for the forms and details that drove the exterior rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.

Historic Photo which drove many of the element reconstructions

When the home was constructed in 1892, craftsmanship was at its height in 19th c. America. This photo was carefully examined for reconstructing most of the exterior details. The team at Blackstock Construction was a natural fit for this project.
